UNLOOK for Wix

What it does

UNLOOK is an AI receptionist for your website. On your Wix site it shows as a chat button. It answers your visitors from your own business information, takes their name and contact when they want to hear from you, and emails you each lead.

There are two ways to put it on your site. Connect it, and Wix adds the chat for you: there is nothing to paste. Or paste one line into your site yourself.

Before you start

You need three things:

• An UNLOOK account. No account yet? Start on unlook.in.
• Your Wix login, the one you use to edit your website.
• A Wix site. Your visitors see the chat once the site is published.

Pasting the line yourself needs a Premium plan with your domain connected.

Connect your site

   Log in at app.unlook.in and open Get live.

   Under Your website is built with, choose Wix and press Connect Wix. Wix opens. If it asks you to log in, use the login you use to edit your website.

   If you have more than one website, Wix asks which one first. Then press Agree & Add, the blue button at the bottom. You come straight back to UNLOOK, and the chat is on your website.

If you press Cancel on Wix’s screen, UNLOOK is not added and nothing on your site changes.

Paste it yourself

In UNLOOK, open Get live, choose Wix and open Add it yourself instead. Press Copy beside your line. Then, in Wix:

   Open Settings → Custom code (under Advanced).

   Press + Add Custom Code and paste the line.

   Choose All pages, place it in Body – end, press Apply. (Needs a Premium plan with your domain connected.)

Back in UNLOOK, Get live updates by itself once it sees the chat on your site. To look straight away, press Check my site now.

Set it up

   Check what it knows. Open Receptionist. UNLOOK only answers from what is written there, so make sure your prices, hours and services are right. Anything your website didn’t say, add it.

   Make it look like your site. Open Settings, then Website. Under Chat look you choose the chat’s colour, picture, font and corners. Where you choose nothing, the chat follows your website’s own colour, font and corners. Your visitors see your business’s name, not ours.

   Let visitors book a time, if you want that. Open Receptionist, then Booking. Under Online booking, switch on Take bookings online.

   Go live. Back on Get live, press Go live. Until then, visitors see your offline message.

Day to day

• A visitor opens the chat on your site and asks a question. UNLOOK answers from your information, at any hour.
• When they leave a name and a way to reach them, you get an email. The lead waits in Leads, and the whole conversation is in Inbox.
• When it can’t answer a question, it tells the visitor so and puts the question under Needs you. Press Add answer, write the answer once, and it uses it from the next chat on.

What it adds to your site

One line, on every page of your site. It is a small file from app.unlook.in that loads the chat after your page has loaded. It only works on your own website and needs no keys or passwords. Nothing else is added, and none of your pages, styles or content is changed.

When you connect, what UNLOOK does in Wix, and what for:

• It switches its own line on for your site, and off again when you disconnect.
• It reads your site’s name, and its address once the site is published, so the chat answers there.
• It tells Wix when setting up is finished, so Wix’s own screens stop asking you to finish it.

UNLOOK keeps no Wix password or key for your site.

Take it off

   In UNLOOK, open Settings, then Website.

   Next to Connected to Wix, press Disconnect, then Disconnect again to confirm.

The chat stops appearing on your website. Nothing else is deleted. The UNLOOK app itself stays on your Wix site until you delete it there: in your Wix dashboard, open Apps, then Manage Apps. Beside UNLOOK, press the arrow next to Go to Dashboard, then Delete app. Deleting it in Wix also disconnects it in UNLOOK.

Pasted the line yourself? Take it out again in Wix, under Settings → Custom code.

If something isn’t right

It says “We couldn’t finish connecting.” Nothing was changed on your site. To try again, in your Wix dashboard open Apps, then Manage Apps, and press Go to Dashboard beside UNLOOK. If UNLOOK isn’t listed there, open Get live, choose Wix and press Connect Wix again.

I pasted the line, but UNLOOK doesn’t see it. Save or publish your site in Wix, then press Check my site now on Get live. Pasting it needs a Premium plan with your domain connected.

Get live says “Nothing to set up”. Your account was set up for you by UNLOOK, so there is no Connect Wix button. Write to us (see “Get help”).

Someone else looks after my website. On Get live, press Get help with this. You can email the steps to whoever updates your website, or ask us to install it for you.
