UNLOOK for Webflow
How to put the UNLOOK chat on your Webflow site, set it up, and take it off again. You add it by pasting one line into your site settings.

What it does
UNLOOK is an AI receptionist for your website. On your Webflow site it shows as a chat button in the corner. It answers your visitors from your own business information, takes their name and contact when they want to hear from you, and emails you each lead.
On Webflow you paste one line into your site settings, once, or we do it for you. Nothing else on your site changes.
Before you start
You need four things:
- An UNLOOK account. No account yet? Start on unlook.in.
- Your line from UNLOOK. You copy it on Get live (the steps below show how). It is also in Settings, under Website, as Install code.
- Your Webflow login, the one you use to edit your website.
- A paid Webflow site plan. Webflow only lets you add your own code to a site that has one.
Paste it yourself
- Log in at app.unlook.in and open Get live. Under Add it to your website, choose Webflow and press Copy. Then log in to Webflow.
- Open your site’s Site settings → Custom code.
- Paste the line into Footer code and press Save.
- Publish the site. The chat shows to your visitors from that publish on.
- Back on Get live, press Check my site now. When UNLOOK finds the line on your site, it says so. You can also leave the page open: it updates by itself.
Not technical? Under the steps on Get live, press Email it to whoever updates my website, type their email and press Send it. They get your line and the Webflow steps, and their replies come to you. Or press Install it for me, then Ask UNLOOK to install it, and we email you within one business day. We never ask for your password: we reply with a safe way to give us access.
Set it up
- Check what it knows. Open Receptionist. UNLOOK only answers from what is written there, so make sure your prices, hours and services are right. Anything your website didn’t say, add it.
- Make it look like your site. Open Settings, then Website. Under Chat look you choose the chat’s colour, picture, font and corners. Where you choose nothing, the chat follows your website’s own colour, font and corners. Your visitors see your business’s name, not ours.
- Let visitors book a time, if you want that. Open Receptionist, then Booking. Under Online booking, switch on Take bookings online.
- Go live. Back on Get live, press Go live. Until then, visitors see your offline message.
Day to day
- A visitor opens the chat on your site and asks a question. UNLOOK answers from your information, at any hour.
- When they leave a name and a way to reach them, you get an email. The lead waits in Leads, and the whole conversation is in Inbox.
- When it can’t answer a question, it tells the visitor so and puts the question under Needs you. Press Add answer, write the answer once, and it uses it from the next chat on.
What it adds to your site
One line, in Footer code under Site settings → Custom code. It loads the chat from app.unlook.in after your page has loaded. It needs no keys or passwords, and the chat only answers on your own website. Nothing else is added, and none of your pages, styles or content is changed.
Unless you invite us to install it for you, UNLOOK has no access to your Webflow account at all.
Take it off
- In Webflow, open your site’s Site settings → Custom code.
- In Footer code, delete the line you pasted (the one with app.unlook.in in it) and press Save.
- Publish the site. The chat leaves your live site at that publish.
Nothing in your UNLOOK account is deleted: your business info, leads and chats stay there. While your plan is running, UNLOOK’s daily check may email you once to say it can’t find the chat. That is expected.
Only want it to stop answering for a while? Leave the line where it is. In UNLOOK, open Settings, then Answering, and switch it off. Visitors see your offline message instead, and nothing is lost.
If something isn’t right
I pasted the line, but there’s no chat on my site. The site hasn’t been published since. Publish it in Webflow, then press Check my site now again.
Webflow won’t let me save custom code. Custom code needs a paid site plan in Webflow. Without one, press Install it for me on Get live and we’ll help.
UNLOOK says my address isn’t on my list of sites. It found the chat on an address it doesn’t answer on yet (your webflow.io address, for example). Press the button beside that message that says Allow and your address, and the chat answers there too.
UNLOOK says the line on my site isn’t mine. It is probably the line from your demo. In Footer code, replace it with your own line (in Settings, under Website, as Install code), press Save and publish.
